The AppModel

The “App” model is the main kickoff point for the execution path of any request to Magento. Although the Mage class is important for loading all sorts of classes and configurations, the execution path starts and ends inside the App. The App is responsible for:
• Initializing the system cache
• Instantiating the default front controller (Mage_Core_Controller_Varien_Front)
• Instantiating the default request object (Mage_Core_Controller_Request_Http)
